The Business Development Manager (BDM) is primarily an inside sales role, responsible for reaching revenue objectives and margin goals. The position will require the BDM to create new partnerships, achieve established sales goals, target new accounts and implement business development initiatives that grow revenue and new customers for the company.

We are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and hunter mentality, passion for sales and a proven track record of success (producing revenue), who takes a hands-on, self-starter approach to building new business opportunities. The position is responsible for selling and supporting our service offering to a targeted set of accounts - that are high value and provide a strong growth opportunity.

The position will require securing C-Level and Mid-Level appointments for ideal client targets within agency direct, brand direct, and other markets, requiring a consultative sales approach. The BDM will effectively engage sales and account management support from leadership and other members of the team to bring the right knowledge and solution to the customer.

He or she will be developing and presenting our solution/recommended program to the customer in a complete and professional manner to secure a contract. Upon contract, the client will be managed and fulfilled by the Account Management team.

Compensation plan features salary + commission platform.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan that meets or exceeds established sales goals and supports revenue and profitability targets.
  • Develop new business opportunities (new client accounts) and grow them via both outbound, cold calling and inbound warm leads.
  • Prepare and present sales presentations and materials that effectively demonstrate the value proposition of services.
  • Identifying potential customers and develop key target lists for prospecting and presenting our agency.
  • Develop and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline toward opportunities and companies to continuously grow the business and generate sales.
  • Understand customer’s business objectives. Be able to tie talent solutions to the customers problems/needs ensuring we are viewed as a strategic and turnkey partner to help meet their business goals.
  • Maintain a team-oriented, problem-solving focus on delivering a quality solution that facilitates customer success.
  • Effectively manage time, scheduled appointments, face-to-face and/or Web meetings to generate revenue and new leads.
  • Maintain CRM on a daily basis ensuring leads are cultivated and opportunities progress through the sales pipeline. Enter and manage new contracts.
  • Follow directives set forth by Director of Sales to help guide you to success.
  • Identify and target specific marketing opportunities to create awareness, build relationships in new markets, with key customers, etc.
  • Submit necessary sales forecast reports to document progress, activities and issues.
  • Actively participate in designated sales calls/meetings to review sales forecast, pipeline, key targets, status/updates and key prospect meetings.
  • Actively participate in sales training, sharing of best practices and other related development opportunities.
  • Actively participate in annual forecasting, key development initiatives, and goal setting.
  • Liaison with operations department to develop critical path timelines, staffing plans, and travel to ensure smooth and timely delivery of projects.
  • Partner with operations to expedite the resolution of customer problems/issues to maximize satisfaction and retention.
  • Work internally with team members to prepare and present as needed post-event reports and summaries to customer stakeholders.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years sales/business development experience with proven success.
  • Familiarity with CRM practices and key sales reporting practices.
  • Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong prioritizing, time management and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiastic and pro-active attitude and effort.
  • Perseveres in the face of obstacles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and developing best practices for selling.

Work Environment

In-office Monday through Friday, Alpharetta office location. Additionally, he or she should be available to work some weekends and evenings as needed.
