• Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques.

• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.

• Skills and Qualifications
• Masters or Ph. D. in Applied statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields.
• 4 – 6 years or experience as a Data Scientist working with both IT and business teams.
• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
• Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, NumPy, MatLab. Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable.
• Great communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly.
• Ability to understand & analyze complex business process, data concepts and algorithms
• Ability to build strong partnerships with business clients, technology teams and offshore.
• Ability to elicit user stories and facilitate efficient business process proposals.
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot, etc.
• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Good to have - Hive, Pig.
• Good to have - Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase.
• Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
• Good scripting and programming skills in Python, R.
• Data-oriented personality.
